The TX model before it had limited ability and could only change through body contact, much like its precursor, the T-1000, The T 1000 and the first TX model were capable of perfectly emulating the shape, color, and texture of anything that it touched, provided that the object being emulated was of similar size and mass. It could scan every detail of a molecule and cell in an object by simply touching it. Objects larger or smaller than the T-1000 or earlier model TX could not be perfectly emulated.
